A glorious appetizer

Festive Jacob Mussels

Festive Jacob Mussels is a simple seafood appetizer that we serve for Christmas, New Year's Eve, or Valentine's Day.

Festive Jacob Mussels
We love seafood at home, but in my opinion, we don’t enjoy it often enough. With the upcoming holidays, it's a perfect opportunity to prepare more delicious dishes, such as mussels. This time, we’re focusing on large mussels called Jacob Mussels. They can be easily made in a pan in just a few minutes. Serve them with a fresh, colorful seasonal salad and a light sauce to elevate the entire meal.

These are the top reasons why we adore this recipe:

  • an effortless, fresh appetizer that is light and quickly prepared
  • gluten-free and dairy-free
  • with a gorgeous citrus note
  • a fantastic dish for the festive season, especially for Christmas, Easter, all Valentine's Day

Essential ingredients

This dish is made of three components. We need to make the sauce, the salad, and the mussels. We purchased all of the ingredients in our local Lidl store.

Sauce - make a fresh sauce or dressing using delicious ingredients like parsley, Mandarin, shallot, celery, and scallion.

Salad - is fresh, colorful, and beautifully winterish. Use radicchio, lettuce, and citruses.

Mussels - In this recipe, we use Jacob mussels that we pan-fry until golden. You can also use frozen mussels, but make sure to defrost them before using them.
